Aster novi-begii is a Michaelmas daisy plant, a very tough, hardy perennial from the aster family.
Pretty purple/lilac flowers appear of stems approx 70cm during autumn and last a long time.
Asters like a sunny position, also where air can get at them to stop mildew. They like moist, fertile soil. Cut back once flowers have finished, frost tolerant.
